Award Increases/Decreases
- Increases
Adjustments to FWS allocations can be made if an applicant's financial need allows for an increase and funds are available. The student's employer will be notified by Student Employment Services of any adjustment immediately following notification to Student Employment Services by the Office of Student Financial Services.
- Decreases
Occasionally it is necessary for the Office of Student Financial Services to reduce a student's FWS award. The student's employer will be notified by Student Employment Services immediately following notification by Student Financial Services. Upon notification of an award reduction, the employer should re-evaluate the student's work schedule to make sure hours are not assigned that would bring student earnings in excess of the adjusted FWS award. In a case where the student has already exceeded the reduced award, the hiring department will automatically be charged 100 percent of all excess earnings.
