paychecks

  • Semi-monthly Paychecks
All students are paid semi-monthly, hourly and/or salary.

Students who are paid 'hourly' MUST have mail-code F11(Personnel Administrator); this ensures that their paycheck and other payroll related documents are forwarded to Student Employment Services.

Undergradates who are paid 'salary' may have the mail-code of their hiring department. Graduate students who are paid salary by their graduate department MUST use that department's mail-code; this especially applies to concurrent employment. For example, a graduate student in the History Department with a TAship (salary), also works for the MSE Library (hourly), they would have the History Department's mail code for both jobs.

  • Direct Deposit
All students who work for the university, regardless of work location, may elect direct deposit to any financial institution in the continental United States participating in the Automated Clearing House. To learn more about Direct Deposit and how to sign up today, click here.

  • Checks Mailed Home
For Homewood students with mail code F11, who do not wish to visit Student Employment Services to sign-for and obtain their paychecks on a regular basis, we strongly recommend that you elect Direct Deposit. Unclaimed paychecks are mailed home twice per academic year: winter (January) and summer break (June). The checks are mailed to the perm home address listed in ISIS.

During winter and/or summer break, students can request to have their paycheck(s) mailed to them by providing us with a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Students who work up to, and including finals week, will not have a paycheck issued until AFTER the final examination period. Thus, in order to have your paycheck(s) mailed to you, you must visit Student Employment Services to either drop-off a self-addressed, stamped envelope or complete an envelope in our office. We have postage stamps available for purchase.

Please note, if you work for the University, your hiring department should allow you time to pick-up your paycheck on a regular basis. If your supervisor has questions, please advise them to contact Student Employment Services directly. We would be happy to answer any questions they might have.

  • Students having trouble getting paid should speak with their supervisor. If this does not help, please contact Student Employment Services to schedule an appointment.
