Homewood-based students wishing to work at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions MUST provide their employer with valid proof of a 'negative' PPD skin test for tuberculosis. The Homewood Student Health Clinic can provide this screening free of charge for full-time students of the Homewood campus. Students may schedule an appointment by calling the clinic at 516-8270. Please note: Students must be able to return to the clinic 48 to 72 hours after the test to have it interpreted. If the student does not return to the clinic during this time, the test is invalid and cannot be repeated for three months, which will delay the employment process. Students having a 'positive' skin test result will be instructed to have a chest x-ray (at their expense/personal insurance) before they can begin work. Questions regarding JHMI immunization, tuberculin testing, and chest x-ray
requirements, should be directed to the
Office of Occupational Health and Safety.
